The Sectoral Council for the Development of Professional Standards in Healthcare was established in August 2023 through the efforts of:
– The National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (hereinafter – NAMS of Ukraine) (from enterprises (employers) in the healthcare sector and self-governing organisations in medical science);
– Ukrainian Federation of Professional Medical Organisations (on behalf of professional medical associations);
– Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine (from higher education institutions in the medical field).
The Sectoral Council was established to develop 180 professional standards in the healthcare sector, applications for which were submitted by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the UFPMO.
By the requirements of the legislation, authorised representatives were invited to join the Sectoral Council:
– enterprises (employers) of the relevant industry;
– trade unions and associations of employers’ organisations representative at the national or sectoral level;
– public associations, the main purpose of which, by the charter, is to protect professional interests, and their associations;
– scientific institutions, including the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine;
– educational institutions of various levels, etc.
The first meeting of the Sectoral Council was held on 12 September 2023.
As of September 2024, more than 230 professional standards are under development.
