History of the Ukrainian Federation of Professional Medical Organisations:
The history of the UFPMO begins on 12 December 1997, when the first constituent meeting of the Federation of Public Medical Organisations of Ukraine (FPMOU) was held.
The UFPMO was initiated by Lubomyr Pyrig, who was the president of the All-Ukrainian Medical Society at that time. Its founders included 32 professional medical associations.
The first President of the Federation was Dmytro Zabolotnyi, MD, PhD, Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Director of the Kolomiychenko Institute of Otolaryngology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Vice President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, President of the Ukrainian Scientific Medical Society of Otolaryngologists.
