The Ukrainian Federation of Professional Medical Associations is holding a board meeting
On January 17th, 2022, the Ukrainian Federation of Professional Medical Associations held its first board meeting of the year. The meeting included reviewing the previous year’s work, including media activities during the last quarter of 2021. The board also unanimously approved the strategic principles, goals, and objectives for the first and second quarters of 2022. Proposals were made to increase the presence of the UFPMO and its members in the media.
One crucial issue discussed was regulating the number of medical professions, which the Board unanimously approved. The Board also discussed proposals for additional medical professions, which should be taken into account when forming the lists of Scientific and Medical Councils and the Chamber of Specialists.
During the meeting, the Board considered various critical issues, such as the participation of member professional associations and the UFPMO in the continuous professional development of medical and pharmaceutical workers. The Board also discussed proposals for the organization and the holding of a tender for the selecting of a BPR platform for a further recommendation of use to UFPMO member associations.
The head of the executive committee informed the Board of the proposals of the UFPMO to the Ministry of Health regarding the introduction of changes to the draft law «On Self-Government of Medical Professions in Ukraine». The Board decided to intensify efforts to promote the speedy adoption of the draft law for consideration at the VRU meeting.
In the «Miscellaneous» section, the issue of the participation of the UFPMO member associations in the process of conducting competitions and appointing managers of healthcare institutions of all levels and different forms of ownership was considered. The Board recommended that the Ministry of Health and other owners provide recommendations/characteristics regarding work experience, professional competence, and reputation from professional associations.
The President closed the meeting, and the next meeting will be held based on the results of the II International Forum of Medical Personnel «PERSONNEL DECIDE EVERYTHING» on January 27th-28th, 2022.
